For almost 50 years, the Lincoln Children’s Zoo has provided Lincoln-area children with the opportunity to learn firsthand about the Zoo’s many special critters.

Our mission is to enrich lives through firsthand interaction with living things. We strive to provide our visitors with unique ways to connect with the natural environment and instill a love for the environment in young children.

Numerous hands-on learning exhibits—such as Firsthand Farm and Critter Encounter—encourage children to touch the animals and ask questions of the staff. This one-on-one interaction makes lasting memories—and inspires children of all ages to not only care about nature, but to take action to protect our environment.
